materious

Cubby coat hook is designed by Stephanie & Bruce from materious. The design challenges traditional form–rather than a coat hook being a fairly linear element (like a nail), Cubby is a volume. The center space offers storage for keys, wallets, gloves, sunglasses, or other small items. The outer surface allows purses and scarves to be hung and offers a wider, more collar-friendly support for coats. Many Cubbyies can be attached to the wall linearlly or randomly, in different colors, and each family member can have their own coat "space."

Each Cubby is hand cast by the designers.

i-D Magazine

i-D Magazine has published a collectible March09 issue with 12 different covers features 12 iconic British models from 60's icons to present day in The Best of British. These models are Jourdan Dunn, Kate Moss, Susie Bick, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Eliza Cummings, Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe, Twiggy, Yasmin Le Bon, Lily Donaldson & Agyness Deyn.

i-D Magazine

The shot is done by Art + Commerce photographer Sølve Sundsbø with the help of i-D's iconic fashion director, Edward Enninful. This month issues are dedicated to the Best British Models from 60's icons to present day. Also with this issue is the interviews of 18 iconic female figures in the world of British fashion and the individual approach they have taken to distinguish British fashion on an international stage.

The Best of British

And this is what I just found out from PRODn, the provenance of i-D Magazine’s logo, it represents a winking emoticon. ( never think of interior or industrial product again!) The i-D logo is rather wicked, since its name (literally and figuratively) defines the successful, trend-setting British fashion magazine.

NCS Color Sample

Designed by BVD backed in 2004, this color systems packaging for NCS has been revitalized and given a real boost.

The existing packaging design felt drab and old-fashioned, and failed to reflect NCS as an innovative company. As a result, BVD is roped in to develope a new packaging that move away from a grey world in terms of materials to a black, modern rayon fabric with white, clear and playful typography.

IKEA

It seems Ikea is about to launch a green car called Leko. While many rumors are around Ikea French website: Roulez-Leko.com, which shows a car covered in a white sheet with the car designer Christophe Grozs beside, the site's large digital clock counting down to 1 April has let us think is this another April Fool's viral?

However, some aspects of the site suggest there may be something BIG on 1 April. According to the website, everything will be reveal on 31 March, so lets wait and see!

Marc Pascal Ceramics

I definetely heart Pascal's ceramic-wares.

In Marc Pascal's world options and freedom of choice are paramount. Even a vase takes on greater potential than its historical predecessors, where the flower lover is offered multiple cavities in which to manipulate colours and smells. Created in satin white porcelainous stoneware, they are both elegant and surreal. Smooth, egg shell- like surfaces, marching tubular vessels and hints of the voluptuous curves of deep-sea coral demonstrate Pascal's constant investigation and questioning of familiar formulas for functional objects.

All of the products in the collection are handmade and dyed and made individually to order. Marc Pascal is also available for concept development and implementation of custom spaces.

Speedo

Speedo's again collaborate with the avant garde fashion brand Comme des Garçons for their latest swimsuit collection.

Two standout designs from this collection are: Logo Script, which sees a Speedo twist to a CdG classic handprint - the iconic Speedo graphic in repetition, forming a distinctive pattern; and Tie Dye, an on-trend effect yet rarely seen in swimwear, executed to dramatic effect. Available in two colours, the first print mixes a palate of radiant yellows, cotton candy and sushi red on a red base to create a vibrant glow; whilst the second is a fusion of smoky black and cinnamon, with streaks of electric blue on a black base.

Comme des Garçons

“The vibrant colours and bold graphics used in this season’s collection create a sense of dynamism and energy which we hope will inspire the swimmer. Together with Speedo, we are always looking to push the boundaries of performance, design and fashion.” - Adrian Joffe of Comme des Garcons

I like the idea the Jellyfish floating in your room ( kurage means jellyfish in Japanese). Kurage is composed of optical fiber. By bending the optical fiber, the whole area is illuminated outside of the immediate area of the light, and together, they can make very soft light. The brightness can be adjusted by the size of the curve.

Designed by Jo Nagasaka of Schemata Architecture office, currently there are four version of the kurage fiber optics light . Each kurage is hand-made, so each one will be slightly different but enough to make a strong statement in the room its shine.

HOLON Lamp

Finally, a lamp that generate flashes of ideas. Design by Holger Volk, this HOLON lamp is a smart design using only an ordinary 15 Watt light bulb with an outline around signaled a bright idea.

HOLON is pure luxury. HOLON is a working lamp for the soul. HOLON is an hommage to the light bulb. The end of this archaic product operating with a tungsten thread is preassigned by the legislator. Therefore, HOLON is a luxury article for nostalgic people. After a hundred successful years, the charm of the ordinary light bulb not only lies in electro-magnetic rays; in fact, it has imprinted itself as an archetype into our consciousness, and therefore has established itself as an across-the-board cultural symbol. In this respect, HOLON might be a metaphor design, that re-transfers this alter ego of the light bulb into a lamp.

Dirk Wynants

YeeHaa! is a set of furniture suitable for dark environments. Thinking of a campfire and you will get the idea of YeeHaa! family.

The Bronco stools were the very first designs by Dirk Wynants as the perfect solution to comfortably sit around the Qrater campfire dish. Soon after however, the Corral table that symbolizes the Qrater fire dish ‘saw the light’, closely followed by the C’upsidedown pendulum lamp. The lamp is actually a Corral table hung upside down from the ceiling.

The Totem was added, allowing people to safely store 28 Bronco stools in a very compact way. Last but not least, high Bronco bar stools and high Corral tables were added to address bar and hospitality needs. The YeeHaa! family covers all of these products under one name..
