Honda recently unveiled its EV-N concept, an all electric plug-in car, at the 41st Tokyo Motor Show 2009. The EV-N is a two door battery powered car that inspired by the past. The retro looks with really simple but details design make this car adorable and well suited for the crowded city.



Equipped with solar roof, the car features customizable seat covers to suit everybody taste and a small electric unicycle, U3-X inside the passenger’s side door. U3-x is a compact experimental device to provide free movement in all directions just like human walking - forward, backward, side-to-side, and diagonally.



Another interesting features of EV-N is the front fascia 'communication system' which will give 'life' to the EV-N. Through embedded lighting system, the front fascia can show a variety of lighting pattern which will communicate the driver with its environment.

By tying the different size aluminium tubes together with a belt, they make an umbrella stand. Because it is so simple, you even can DIY your own umbrella stand. You can add as many tubes as you want and play with colors. The finish product will surely a satisfy one.

A contemporary reinterpretation of the Banyan Tree sits majestically on the front lawn of the National Museum of Singapore, The Tree is a reconstruction from a series of interlocking frames with lights that pulsates gently in the night. Hanging microphones simulating that of aerial roots will also detect environment sounds and alter the lighting nature of the Tree – glowing intensely and dimming down with the rising and falling sound levels.


The Tree is an art installation by FARM Singapore, an arts and design community portal. With this installation, FARM hope this Tree will inspire people to slow down, take a breather and simply bask and partake in this recreation of nature’s wonder.

Hélène Boularan, aka LN Boul designed this Swell Light from moulded wood strip that assembled together to form the shape. Like a wilderness escape, this light is composed of strips of wood whose form and assembly disorganized create the illusion of an atmosphere plant or a forest tamed.
Inspired by nature, human beings and life, LN Boul Swell Light is poetic and full of sensitivity.

Give Stefan Sagmeister 10,000 bananas & some glue, and he give you a giant Banana Wall, part of an art installation on Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far exhibition. Titled Self-confidence Produces Fine Results, the Banana Wall is made of real bananas stacked up in a giant wall at Deitch Gallery.


In the Banana Wall, Sagmeister used green bananas to create the motto: Self-confidence Produces Fine Results and ripe banana as the background. The interesting thing about this installation is that it change over time. As the banana ripen further, the motto will disappeared and the background become brownish-yellow. The whole bananas gradually decays over 24 days of the exhibition.

Bespoke carmaker, Wa-el Rizk of Rizk Auto is bringing yesteryear motor-sport best design elements into production with today modern materials & aerospace technology. The RA is a light and powerful, with curvaceous bodywork inspired by 1957 Aston Martin DBR2 LeMans racing cars.
While the RA body is formed by curves instead of sharp lines that ruled today modern cars, the interior is more sexy with Herman Miller Aeron chairs, adapted and re-trimmed to provide weatherproof seating for the open-topped car.
The RA will be available with a 6 or 12-cylinder Jaguar engine, or a V8, the Rizk will be produced in an extremely limited edition of 40 cars.

Plastiquarium is recycled plastic art by artist David Edgar. Make from used detergent bottles and other recycled plastics, Plastiquarium is a collection of strange marine creatures, as a result of increasing phosphate levels in Earth's marine environment caused new, synthetic life forms to emerge.
“The Plastiquarium is immersed in mystery. Modern myth suggests that a century of increasing phosphate levels in Earth’s marine environment caused new, synthetic life forms to emerge. As recyclable HDPE plastic containers spread concentrates of consumer product pollutants, the Plastiquarium creatures evolved in the image of their packaging forbearers.” by David Edgar.
The Plastiquarium creatures are expressive, uniquely crafted and affordable artworks that are accessible to the general public. The chosen materials always from the colorful, lightweight and durable bottles. The used of commercial packaging bottle is a symbolic elements characterizing our producer/consumer society.

Celebrated chef Jamie Oliver has just launched Recipease, a new retail concept for food and kitchen shop where anyone can learn to cook and make great food on the spot. At Recipease, shoppers can come and ask questions, learn new skills, get inspiration and try some really fantastic food from the professional chefs. They also provide fresh daily meals for take away with beautiful packaging.
Like the shop concept, the Recipease packaging tells stories, the packaging communicated a sense of ‘meal assembly’ using the simple idea of a food kit, filled with illustrations and witty repartee about good food and easy cooking.




All of Recipease's trays, boxes, bags, outer sleeves and baking paper come from sustainable sources and are fully recyclable and compostable. The large clear food pots are made from renewable plant materials - currently a corn bi-product - and are biodegradable and compostable.
The whole store branding & packaging is designed by Williams Murray Hamm, a firm that 'creating difference', creating works that looks different and makes a commercial difference.

The nan11 bench by Emanuelle Jaques is a bench that can be assembled with any desired number of individual elements. The shape allows the stools to be interlocked to form a chain-like structure or to be stacked together. Inspired by overlapping roof tiles, where for centuries old, roof tiles have been placed in layered rows, one after another...The nan11 bench has been used in kindergarten to encourage creative thinking & create a relax & playful environment.
