Amazing 3 dimensional typeface by David Pidgeon. One Point explores the form of a six side cube from a single perspective. Because the typeface is in 3-D, one need to see closely to be able to read the type.

Oops, this is not an electricity tower, this is the Faraday Stool. Designed by Teun Fleskens & Ingmar Cramers from Netherlands, the stool was born from a minimum of materials necessary to make a solid and ergonomic design. Beside the striking design, the stool will be absorbed by its surroundings because of its light and transparency.

A packaging concept of Soy Milk aim at informing regular milk consumers that milk obtained from natural plants is as good as cow’s milk, Kian Brand create the 'Soy Mamelle', a packaging that resembled an udder, which presents the first half of the message in that soy milk is identical to that of a cow. The second part of the message is delivered via the colour score and décor of the packaging, which concentrate on the phytogenesis of the product, creating an image of nature and health.

The packaging is developed with two options, individual and family size. The individual packaging is made out of glass, while the family size option is made of a natural latex material. The legs of the packaging are made of special valves and dose systems which allow the container to fill multiple glasses simultaneously by gently squeezing it. In this case, the process of interacting with the packaging becomes more alive and interesting.

Samuel Beckett Book by A2/SW/HK

London-based design firm A2/SW/HK has came up with the complete design of book cover & bespoke typefaces for the complete works of Samuel Beckett (1906-1989). Published by Faber & Faber, there are a total of eighteen Beckett titles under these unified design. Requested to match the 1960s covers in their ‘bold typographical approach’, The cover designs feature a custom-made type treatment printed in a minimal palette of two or three colors. A bespoke cover font, newly designed by A2/SW/HK, forms a type family in four weights that range from a light condensed weight to a bold wide weight, and is used to ensure each book cover has its individual design and character but is still clearly identifiable as part of a larger collection.

Book titles run vertically to allow for the use of large point sizes and parts of the titles bleed off the edges to create a tension in the design. Additional material is typeset in a bespoke sans-serif font of two weights and specially drawn italics.

A neutral grey background has been chosen as a counterpoint to the special Pantone colours chosen for each of the eighteen titles — this choice is also, in part, a playful reference to the Samuel Beckett’s directive, that his gravestone be ‘any colour, so long as it’s grey’.

Samuel Beckett was an Irish avant-garde writer, dramatist and poet, writing in English and French. Beckett's work offers a bleak outlook on human culture and both formally and philosophically became increasingly minimalist. Beckett was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969 for his "writing, which—in new forms for the novel and drama—in the destitution of modern man acquires its elevation".

It's take seven years for artist Paul McCarthy to work on his latest sculpture, Pig Island which features Captain Ballsack, Bush, pigs, piracy, Hummels and a plethoric variety of materials. The installation Pig Island is a carnivalesque amusement park in which human beings behave like pigs. A treasure island in reverse, Pig Island is a sculptural shipwreck in which pirates and their heroines throw themselves with abandon into wild revels.

McCarthy’s shows are conceived as giant theme parks that stage raving bacchanals. Like a circus ringmaster, McCarthy constructs exhibitions in which celebrities impersonators interpret deranged parodies of movies, or in which Mickey Mouse and Snow White are caught in bestial acts of regression.

Paul McCarthy was born in Salt Lake City in 1945 and lives and works in California. Recent major exhibitions of his work include ‘Central Symmetrical Rotation’ Movement – Three Installations, Two Films’, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2008); ‘Paul McCarthy – Head Shop/Shop Head’, Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2006), which toured to ARoS Aarhus Museum of Art, Aarhus, and S.M.A.K., Gent (both 2007); and ‘Paul McCarthy: LaLa land parodie paradies’, Haus der Kunst, Munich, which toured to Whitechapel Gallery, London (both 2005).

Making its global debut at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, the Ford Start Concept is more than simply a design exploration into the feasibility of a small car. Specially made for urban driving, the Ford Start Concept's 1.0-litre, three-cylinder EcoBoost engine reflects Ford's strategy of addressing sustainability in a way that is accessible to a larger audience of car buyers.

The overall design philosophy for the Ford Start Concept was one of making music, not noise. The car exterior design elements were deliberately kept simple, functional, and consistent. The cars minimalistic approach extends through all of the design details around the car. The interior compliments the direction of the exterior. It has been designed to be pure, tactile analog experience. The Start Concept interior was designed to evoke passion and driving excitement with the feeling one would expect from a more premium segment.

The Ford Start Concept is the first pure concept developed under 'One Ford' approach.

Shoe-Fleur

Shoe Fleur debuts photographer Michel Tcherevkoff's virtual collection of fantasy shoes made from fresh plants.

When Michel saw a photograph of a leaf he had shot for a client, turned upside down on his table and thought it looked just like a shoe.” He scanned the image, added a heel, and that became the first "shoe fleur."

Michel began a year of pre-dawn journeys to New York's flower market, where he collected the freshest blooms that he would twist and bend, cut and design into the provocative accessories that became Shoe Fleur. Michel's year of floral fantasies resulted in one hundred shoes, boots and handbags each designed with the sole intention of pleasing an artist's eye and a fashionista's soul.

CHAOS is a fun slipper designed by Tanaka of Formless Design. The slipper has a face-like shape with hand-painted face in different emotions.

The name CHAOS is derived from the slipper itself. In Chaos, you no need to wear the same design for both foot. We can choose whatever design we like and wear it. That's a chaos....but who cares as long as it's fun!
