Camper Stores by aMDL

aMDL- architetto Michele De Lucchi S.r.l. has designed a fews Camper stores around the globe for Camper. These stores can be found at Milano, Amsterdam, Marseille, Singapore, St Petersburg and Tokyo.

The image of the Camper store pays homage to and is reflected in the free and easy, lively spirit of the style, motifs and colours invented by the Memphis designers in the 1980s. Conceptually, the display stand alludes to the wall of shoe boxes. It is deformed however in the Memphis graphic style, and transformed into a three-dimensional décor with an optical effect. The tilted shelves in fact distort the wall’s perspective, and the large number of individual shelves available enables a profusion of shoes to be displayed simultaneously. At the centre of the space, a piece of furniture with absurd and bizarre shapes is reminiscent of the original laminates designed in the Memphis years. By contrast, the floor is in untreated wood.
