Japanese hobby photographer Tsuneaki Hiramatsu captured beautiful fireflies photos through the night air, on hazy summer night in the southern part of Okayama Prefecture.

By using long-exposure and time-lapse shots techniques, Hiramatsu took the photos at various points over a three-year period between 2008 and 2011 and they are from two different sites in the Okayama Prefecture.

In making the photo where you see hundreds, if not thousands, of small firefly lights, Hiratmatsu used time-lapse photography to take several continuous exposures and then merged those photographs in post-production inside Photoshop. The final photo where the firefly lights become trails is just one long exposure from many photos.

Created by the awesome forces of nature, the deep blue cave was formed by the glacier meeting the coastline. The centuries old ice coming down the slopes of Öræfajökull via Svínafellsjökull glacier has had almost all of the air pressed out of the ice. This phenomena has turns the ice into this magically blue crystal like ice while the outer surface expose to the weather, sun-rays, dust and other things is white.

Blue ice like this deep blue occurs over hundreds of years and begins when simple snow falls onto ice or in this case a glacier. The snow sticks to the ice and has its air bubbles forced out during the movement of the glacier or transit of the ice. Then this snow freezes more to become ice crystals and becomes clearer.

Located at the bottom of the 6,921 feet tall Vrffajvkull, Iceland's tallest active volcano, the Crystal Cave of Svmnafellsjvkull is accessible through a 22-foot entrance on the shoreline. However because of the instability of ice cave, it is advisable to visit in winter when the cold temperatures harden the ice.

Stunning photos captured by British photographer- Simon Byrne deep into the secret place of Arizona desert.

Described as one of the 'most beautiful geologic formations in the world', The Wave is a staggering 190 million-years-old sandstone formation in the Arizona desert located somewhere in the 112,500 acre Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness

The phenomenon is made of sand dunes that have turned to rock. They are stacked one atop another and the dunes have calcified in striking vertical and horizontal layers.

German hobby photographer, Markus Reugels has turned photographing water-drops into a new science and art form. These photoshots could be easily mistaken for images taken far outer space, or something from a science-fiction film.

What Markus Reugels does is combining water droplets with food coloring and creative lighting to make these vibrant images, which were only able to be captured with high-speed camera equipment.

Markus, who proudly reveals his images are free from color and computerized manipulation, used a sensor to trigger the camera because the water falls too fast for his finger to operate the shutter.

An extremely fast shutter speed of of up to 1/16,000 per second allowed him to capture detail the human eye could never see.

The end result shows how the artist is making quite a splash with his unique works.

Shoe-Fleur

Shoe Fleur debuts photographer Michel Tcherevkoff's virtual collection of fantasy shoes made from fresh plants.

When Michel saw a photograph of a leaf he had shot for a client, turned upside down on his table and thought it looked just like a shoe.” He scanned the image, added a heel, and that became the first "shoe fleur."

Michel began a year of pre-dawn journeys to New York's flower market, where he collected the freshest blooms that he would twist and bend, cut and design into the provocative accessories that became Shoe Fleur. Michel's year of floral fantasies resulted in one hundred shoes, boots and handbags each designed with the sole intention of pleasing an artist's eye and a fashionista's soul.

Catherine Ledner

While most of the animal photography we have seen is photographed with the nature background, this animal photography by Catherine Ledner is totally different. Different in a creative way. All the animals photographed are placed in front a nicely design wallpaper. And each wallpaper background is matched with the animal personality. You can order these animal prints from Catherine's website. She got the whole zoo for you to choose from: cats, swans, raccoons, pigs ...

i-D Magazine

The shot is done by Art + Commerce photographer Sølve Sundsbø with the help of i-D's iconic fashion director, Edward Enninful. Also with this issue is the interviews of 18 iconic female figures in the world of British fashion and the individual approach they have taken to distinguish British fashion on an international stage.

The Best of British

And this is what I just found out from PRODn, the provenance of i-D Magazine’s logo, it represents a winking emoticon. ( never think of interior or industrial product again!) The i-D logo is rather wicked, since its name (literally and figuratively) defines the successful, trend-setting British fashion magazine.

M-people

Frenchman Rodolphe Simeon photography works titled M-people. Like the theatrical and painting look-alike style.

Happy to call himself a 'hyper realist' photographer and acknowledging that his style isn't to everyone's liking, Rodolphe Simeon is the sort of guy who '...will go for a walk on the street with no major plan nor goal. I'll walk for hours. When I meet people. I stop and start a conversation... A sort of "Hi, Can I take photo?" and a photo is taken immediately."

Simon Høgsberg

Another great project by Simon Høgsberg.

This image is 100 meters long (100 mx 78 cm).

There are 178 people in the picture, all shot in the course of 20 days from the same spot on a railroad bridge on Warschauer Strasse in Berlin in the summer 2007.

Only few of the people in the photograph seem to know I was taking their picture.
